'Loki' Trailer and Loki MCU "Variant," Explained
Everyone knows that Loki was killed by Thanos at the beginning ofAvengers: InfinityWar, but what the new Tv set seriesLoki presupposes is…peradventur that's clean nonpareil "variant" of Loki!
A new, full trailer for the Disney+/Wonder seriesLoki just born (watch above!), and in it, we in the end con the full premise of the untried show. Turns out, after Loki grabbed the Tesseract in Avengers: End game, he was picked up by the Temporal Variance Authority, a fancy prison term-travel police force that exists inside the Marvel multiverse. Owen Wilson's role, Mobius, WHO deeds for the TVA, is asked past another TVA person (played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw) if he believes therein "Loki variance." At some other indicate in the lagger, we see Loki wearing a jumpsuit with the word "Edition" along the back.
So what's upbound with that? Is this the same Loki we met in the other Wonder movies? Short answer: Nope!
Loki "Variant" explained
This version of Loki isclearly an alternate version of the Loki we met after the first Avengers (2012). This Loki never reunited with Thor in Thor: Twilight of the Gods, and never briefly married forces with Thor in the fight against Thanos. In short, we're dealing with a Loki from an alternate universe.
InEndgame, Captain America was supposed to "snip the branches" of all the various alternate timelines, by returning the eternity stones to their "correct" locations. But, in real time, IT seems that information technology's doable thatmaybe Cap didn't fix all the branching timelines. Instead, Mobius has recruited Loki to help oneself out with some of the intermeshed mess of various timelines. Does that Loki actually trim some of those branches? Will he meet Cap or any of the separate Avengers in the show? Clock time (and chaos) will tell!
Loki hits Disney+ on June 11.
